Australian stocks were higher after closing of session on Tuesday. This was due to gains in the Gold, Utilities, and IT sectors leading the shares higher.
At the close in Sydney, the S$P/ASX 200 was up 0.60 percent.
The best performances during the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were delivered by numerous shares. This include Pilbara Minerals Ltd, rising 9.43 percent ot 0.075 points to trade at 0.870 at the close. Another supporter was Galaxy Resources Ltd, rising 7.17 percent or 0.230 points ending at 3.440. Orocobre Ltd also added 6.92 percent or 0.440 points to end at 6.800 in late trade.
The session’s worst performers were Fairfax Media Ltd, falling 3.01 percent or 0.020 points to trade at 0.645 at the close. Myer Holding Ltd also fell 2.73 percent or 0.015 points to close at 0.535. Another lager was Iron Mountain Inc., falling 2.45 percent or 1.06 points to end at 42.20.
On the other hand, the S&P/ASX 200 VIX was down 12.70 percent to 18.771. The S&P/ASX 200 VIX is used to measure the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options.
Japan Stocks Lower at Close of Trade
Japan stocks fell during the close on Tuesday. The shares were dragged down by losses in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Mining, and Paper & Pulp sectors.
As the Nikkei 225 closed in Tokyo, it lost 0.75 percent, dropping to a new 3-month low.
The best performers of the session were Citizen Holdings Co. Ltd, rising 6.62 percent or 50.0 points trading at 805.0 at the close. Chiyoda Corp also added 5.83 percent or 58.0 points, ending at 1053.0. Tokai Carbon Co. Ltd also rose 4.456 percent or 64.0 points to end at 1502.0 during late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pioneer Corp., falling 10.00 percent or 22.0 points and traded at 198.0 at the close. DOWA Holdings Co. Ltd dropped to 3870.0, falling 5.84 percent or 240.0 points. Also, Amada Co. Ltd fell 4086 percent or 71.0 points to 1389.0
The Nikkei Volatility rose 28.43 percent to 36.05, recording a new 52-week high. The Nikkei Volatility is used to measure the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options.
